The librarians at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography Library were most cooperative and assisted us in obtaining references through computer searches and interlibrary loans. Valerie A. Quate worked hard to find some of the obscure, old journals in various libraries in the United States so that the authors could check the references to be positive that they held material concerning the Gulf of California.
